About the Director

 

Pure was directed, written, and produced by Natalie Jasmine Harris.

Natalie Jasmine Harris is a Black queer filmmaker based in NYC. She received her BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in May 2020. For her work on "Pure," Natalie received The 2020 Directors Guild of America’s Student Film Award and many other commendations from film festivals that include NewFest, Outfest, The British Film Institute, ABFF, The Pan African Film Festival, and many more. Pure has had a film festival run with over 50 screenings worldwide and several nominations for Academy-Qualifying Awards. The film was released on HBO/HBOMax in February 2022 after placing as a Finalist in The American Black Film Festival's HBO Short Competition. Pure is now available to stream on Max.
